«I had to tell the news manager face to face, we've known each other since we were kids. I had already hinted at the possibility of leaving, but I said 'that's it, it's been 35 years, I'm single and I'm almost leaving with grandchildren'. I've had my whole career, I started at the bottom. When I told him, he got up and left, I stayed in silence for twenty minutes alone in the bar, it was very hard,» recalled Sergio Lapegüe .

«I told him what I was going to do, it's something I hoped to do someday on my channel, but it didn't happen. It makes me anxious to remember it, it's work but it's life, many years. When they found out on the channel everyone hugged me and cried. When I started on fax I did the humorous notes, I was happy making people laugh. We are news people, the central theme is going to be the news but there is going to be humor,» he said.

On the reason why his show Tempraneros ended early, Sergio Lapegüe confirmed: «I understood later, it was like prolonging the agony. I was at their disposal, I leave with one hand behind and the other in front. They didn't make me a counteroffer, I asked them directly because I didn't want to leave and think about it again, I wanted to put an end to it. Obviously there was pain on everyone's part, I always got along well with everyone and I have friends everywhere, with the same bosses.»

About Lape, Club Social Informativo , which debuts next Wednesday, March 5th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sergio Lapegüe said: "I can't say much but there will be many surprises. My daughter will do social media but also characters with Bicho (Gómez). There will be costumes. My wife is in the promo, everyone told her but she doesn't want to know anything."
